- The Tungsten Carbide Nozzle Offers a Balance Between Wear Resistance and High Performance (3dprint.com)
March 9, 2018
New nozzle made from tungsten carbide can handle the abrasion if you are printing with hard plastics which are reinforcement with fibers such as carbon and glass. FYI... The cutting tools in some CNC's are made from tungsten carbide.
Why does it matter? If you are using an Ultimaker, Raise3D, Prusa, Makerbot, Robo, LulzBot, Flashforge, etc and need to print in reinforcement materials.
Why does it not matter? You are printing with ABS and PLA and may not need to print in reinforcement materials. Also, this is a Kickstarter 3d printer-related project...which are notorious late for product delivery. Their estimated date of arrival is September 2018 - we predict deliveries to occur after January 2019.

- U.S. Olympian competitors Justin Krewson and Andrew Sherk turned to 3D printing (cta.tech)
March 8, 2018
To help craft the perfect luge, U.S. Olympian competitors Justin Krewson and Andrew Sherk turned to the 3D printing experts at Stratasys. Traditional manufacturers can take weeks to create a mold used to make the sled, but Stratasys printed theirs in less than one hour, according to CNET. Thanks to the unique style of manufacturing, Stratasys’ prints allowed the two lugers to quickly create the perfectly customized luge, and easily make tweaks to the luge’s design to optimize weight and aerodynamics. Stratasys is no stranger to practical 3D printing – they have also created racecar parts, prosthetic arms and surgery tools.

- Makerarm multifunction personal fabricator & 3D printer launches on Kickstarter (3ders.org)
October 6, 2015
Earlier this year, we reported on the Makerarm multi-purpose personal fabricator and 3D printer, an exciting robotic arm that combines 3D printing, plotting, milling, pick and place, laser engraving, PCB assembly, cake icing, and even more. As Alec put it, “If this is the future of 3D printing and making, we can’t wait. But of course previews always try to sell you the moon and we’ll just have to wait and see if it delivers.” Today, the Makerarm has launched on Kickstarter, bringing at least some answers to our many questions.
